PUBG Mobile India Need to Approve from MEITY, We have to wait a bit longer
While PUBG Corporation may have already get Green Signal from one of India’s initiative agencies, the corp has another hurdle to beat before its popular battle royale mobile game PUBG Mobile can officially return to the region in line with one report that hasn’t happened yet.
Recently, PUBG Corp officially registered “PUBG India Private Limited” with India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs, creating a legal entity to control within the country. But in step with a report in InsideEsport, citing sources inside the country’s all-important Ministry of Electronics and data Technology (MEITY), the status of PUBG Mobile has not changed as of this writing. Until it gets approval from this agency, it’ll not return to the country.
As per a source, there’s no change in this stance at this stage. Another source said that being recognized by one agency isn’t enough to authorize the relaunch of the Esport in India; MEITY, the agency that originally banned the Esport, also will approve the game’s return.
However, PUBG Corp announced a bold conception to return to India at the start of this month, including creating a brand new entity exclusive to the country, the relaunch of the Esport within the region, and the promise of a USD 100M investment within the ecosystem. Before that announcement, parent company Krafton announced that the corporate had partnered with Microsoft to use its Azure platform to supply local data servers and supply data protection.
Although, PUBG Mobile was banned alongside many other apps with Chinese ties earlier this year because Tencent Games within the region had published it. This month, India banned an extra 43 mobile apps with ties to China, as tensions between the 2 countries still mount over an ongoing dispute over territory between the Chinese and Indian border. So, we hope that you have correctly got known about “PUBG Mobile India Need to Approve from
MEITY”.
